When I received a phone call from the firecracker that is Melinda Estabrooks in late 2016 about her dream of a women’s show and her invitation for me to be part of it, it was an easy yes.

A few months earlier I had said no to some other opportunities because I felt in my gut that I was supposed to keep my schedule flexible to be involved in creating media for the digital world that would point people to Jesus.

I had no idea at the time what that would come to mean. I assumed it would mean I would make mediocre videos with my iPhone for YouTube and my very small network of social media followers, not something more professional with a far wider reach potential like See Hear Love.

I’m grateful for the opportunity to be part of this amazing and inspiring team of women in Melinda, Cheryl, Abby and Kim. As I get to know them on and off camera, you will get to know them too! They are strong, smart, passionate, funny, and very loving women. I believe that with all of our unique personalities combined we will be able to connect with women from across Canada and beyond in an honest dialogue about issues that really matter.

We want to encourage you. We want to remind you that you are not alone in how you feel and what you experience. We desire to give you practical steps to face struggles and fears with new approaches to see breakthrough in various areas of your life. We want to make you laugh, make you think, and make you turn your eyes to Jesus Christ- the author and perfecter of our faith.

So as I reflect on the taping of our first show, I remember the energy and laughter in the makeup room as we were getting ready. (Some love the whole “getting done up” process… me? Not so much. I consider it a very fancy day if I wear coloured lipstick instead of lip gloss.) But there we were, a group of very different types of women; a sisterhood only just begun. As we prayed for you the viewers, and we prayed for everyone involved on set, we felt the presence of God in the room. It was a holy moment of dreams coming to fruition and the beginning of a new adventure with the destination being a bit foggy. A moment that began to connect us as a team like only the Holy Spirit could accomplish.

May you see Jesus. May you hear his voice. May you know you are loved.
