Being Stretched too Thin is a common phenomenon. Our culture screams for attention and we are constantly navigating what needs to be first and foremost in our agenda throughout our day. Our days are not seamless and we contend with various rabbit trails while we try to complete what is most important.  As a Christian woman I’m stretched by the demands of family, profession, aspirations as well as a narrative that wants to keep aligned with cultural demands.

One way I’ve been able to navigate this is through a spiritual rhythm called The Daily Office. It’s a rhythm to not get something from God but to abide with Jesus throughout our day. It allows us pause to be with Him 3-4 times a day. I try my best to pause at 9:00, 12:00, 3:00 and 6:00 pm. I pause anywhere from 2-5 minutes and just breathe and listen. Simple.

  • Pause – Posture your day to pause
  • Focus – “Be still and know that I am God”
  • Reset – As you listen allow God to reset your hurried day

We are all Stretched too Thin! What a wonderful chance for us to make this roadblock into an opportunity!
