Kassandra MatthewsKassandra is a bubbly thirty year-old who is passionate about sharing her deep faith in Jesus, love for people and passion for worship in an unabashed way. Her ministry spans generations, from infants to the elderly and all in-between. Her purpose and calling is to help people of all ages to “remember”; life is so often messy, busy and broken that we humans need constant reminding of the goodness and promises of God.

Right now, she is living that out with the seniors she serves as Spiritual Care Director at a long-term care facility in St. Catharines. Kass walks and prays with these residents and their families through what is often a difficult stage of life, and in every conversation hopes to encourage and affirm the dignity of each one. She counts it as a gift from God when she witnesses people, particularly those with dementia, “remembering” who they are in Christ.

Kassandra also serves on staff at St. Andrews United Church in Niagara Falls, where she prayerfully coordinates and leads the worship experiences for a thriving congregation. She loves the challenge and blessing that it is to plan worship that is meaningful and relevant for all generations, and hopes to most of all glorify God in doing so. Kass’ heart for Children and Youth has led her to serve in children and youth ministries over the years, which most recently included leading a regional Vacation Bible School program for 600+ children.

Kassandra is planning to begin studies toward a M.Div at Atlantic School of Theology in the near future. Kassandra and her husband Dan were married in June 2014, and reside in Niagara Falls. In her spare time (really, what’s that?), Kass enjoys making dreadful punny jokes and delicious food for her friends and family, binge-watching BBC shows, singing, being outdoors, and exploring her creativity. www.sainta.ca
