Imagine that we’re sitting at your table right now and we’re having coffee (one of God’s greatest creations by the way). We’re talking about life, the ups and downs, the hurts & disappointments….the joys and the struggles. After a few laughs, and some tears, this would be the moment that I would pause to encourage you with something that has changed my entire life.  I want to share with you the biggest key to OVERCOMING in my life.

I tried so many methods & listened to so many deep teachings on the subjects of overcoming storms that sometimes I got overwhelmed in the hard times with how to pray, what to do or what steps to take.

Then one day, it all became so clear to me…crystal clear in fact. It was like God turned on the light in the midst of the dark clouds, I got it. In times of crisis, the FIRST step it turns out, was the ONLY step I needed to take.

To make my way back to Joy, to Peace, to Victory, I only needed to do one thing: GET…BACK…UP.  Getting back up from life’s blows looks different for everyone: It could be staying the course, continuing to trust God or not giving up. It could be many things but one thing it’s not…is quitting.

God did not promise us a storm free life, that’s not realistic. However, what He did promise us is that He would be WITH us through every storm & that it won’t overtake us.

The word of God reminds us in Isaiah 43:2-4:
“But now, God’s Message, the God who made you in the first place, Jacob, the One who got you started, Israel: “Don’t be afraid, I’ve redeemed you.  I’ve called your name. You’re mine.
When you’re in over your head, I’ll be there with you. When you’re in rough waters, you will not go down. When you’re between a rock and a hard place, it won’t be a dead end.

Wow…I love that! What a powerful reminder to all of us that God is in the midst of the storm! So…what do you do when you’re between a rock and a hard place? Well, I always say “when you don’t know what to do, keep doing what you KNOW to do.”  Keep worshiping, keep praying, keep reading God’s word, keep serving & keep trusting God.

All of those things are variations of ‘getting back up’ when the problems of life knock us down. Not throwing in the towel but, rather, standing firm in the knowledge of who you are AND who’s you are. GOD fights for you. He goes before you. Therefore, be still and know that He is God and He is working on your behalf in the midst of it.
Courage is showing strength in the face of adversity. That will be YOUR story…that is who YOU are. So it’s time beloved….take a deep breath…and GET BACK UP. <3
