Beloved Daughters of the King

I’ve got some incredible, good news for all of my Sisters reading this blog today: You are loved by Jesus! And not in a ‘warm hug’ kind of way, but in a ‘I would lay my life down for You’ kind of way! Wow…there is no love greater than that!  This is exactly how, we as women, are loved by the Saviour.  The most encouraging reminder I can leave with You as you prepare for this coming Easter weekend is: JESUS LOVES WOMEN!  JESUS STANDS WITH WOMEN! JESUS FIGHTS FOR WOMEN! WHOOO HOOO!

Yes, Jesus…the Almighty One…the Saviour of the World…the Christ.  Jesus’s attitude towards women was completely counter-cultural to those in society.  He was a complete radical, in every way, who came to turn the religious establishment on it’s ear. That is one of the things I love most about Him, because I’m a radical at heart myself, lolol.  At a time where women were looked down upon and  treated as second class citizens, Jesus treated every woman He met with dignity, love & respect…without fail.

Jesus spoke with the woman at the well (John 4), advocated for a woman caught in adultery (John 8) and openly showed love to a disruptive woman who washed his feet with her hair (Luke 7).  Instead of ignoring these women or treating them less than, he actually made an example of them to the disciples and those in the villages nearby. It’s no coincidence that on the third day, after Christ’s death, a woman would be the very first messenger of the ‘gospel’ -the good news that Jesus is risen. Jesus has a special place in His heart for women, it is evident throughout scripture.

During our time with Evangelical thought leader & Teaching Pastor, Bruxy Cavey, in the days leading up to Easter, he said something that really struck a chord with me. He said that Jesus strategically chose to come as a man, the gender of power, to intentionally humble himself and lay it all down. He purposely served the disciples, over and over, in a manner in which women were designated, in order to teach them many powerful lessons on both humility and equality.

We are beloved daughters of the King, His chosen vessels, His hand selected treasures. You are honoured and You are loved.  Receive that love today knowing that You are a rare jewel in the eyes of God. You hold a special place in the heart of God. In the days to come, I encourage you to change your posture.  Don’t come before him, as a servant….come boldly as a BELOVED DAUGHTER OF THE KING. <3
