Christina Dib – Choosing Joy While Living With Incurable Cancer
My name is Christine and I am 37 years old. I have been blessed to be a mom to two beautiful children who are now 21 and 19 years old. Just like everyone has challenges in life, I’ve had my own hardships. I got pregnant at 16 years old, married at 18 and divorced by 22. I endured a very abusive marriage for four years. Becoming a single mom at age 22 had its own challenges. I truly tried to survive one day at a time. By age 27 I was diagnosed with stage 2 Breast Cancer, and this was the scariest challenge I had ever faced. With Jesus by my side, I won my battle and was declared cancer free after being in remission for 5 years. Life was slowly getting back to “normal”. I moved to a new city, started a new career, bought my first house, and got engaged to an amazing man. Shortly after celebrating my 37th birthday, I found out my cancer had returned. Only this time it is stage 4 and is declared by the cancer clinic as “incurable”. It’s been incredible to see the amazing ways God has been using this terrible disease to do good in my life. I am excited to share my story with everyone with hopes to inspire people who are facing their own hardships.
