It was so much FUN to meet Annie F Downs and get to be a part of the See Hear Love viewer question segment! I have been working on See Hear Love since episode 1 and it felt so cool to be in front of the camera!

I was first introduced to Annie when a friend handed me her book ‘Remember God’ at church one Sunday, and I read it in a day! And y’all, it moved me deeply. That was January of 2019 and I have been a huge fan ever since. I love her writing, her honestly, her vulnerability and her humour.  When I discovered she had a podcast ‘That Sounds Fun’ – it was a no brainer to hit subscribe. I have done her ‘100 Days to Brave’ devotional (highly recommend!) and I’ve even shipped some swag from Nashville!

Annie has a way of making her listeners and readers feel like her friends, and during this last year, haven’t we all missed having fun with our friends?! I know I sure have, so when my super fandom collided with an opportunity to have fun, I couldn’t pass it up!

I set up my lighting and laptop in my living room! Did my hair, makeup and picked a fab top! Got my teenager to take some pictures for me! Prayed for it to go well and joined the Zoom call to record!

Annie was so lovely to speak to. She was exactly what I thought she would be – warm, kind and engaged in our time together. To be honest, it all happened so fast and it was so exhilarating that I look at the pictures and think ‘did that really happen?” Haha!! The whole day I don’t think my feet touched the ground! Not only because I met Annie, but it just felt SO good to have some fun!

I could have talked to her for hours, but I trust that our paths will cross again.  I really always felt that I would meet her in my makeup chair, so I look at this first meeting as just our warm up to a bigger and brighter friendship in the future!!

The whole experience was a welcome reminder to say YES!! I was very nervous to meet Annie for the first time on NATIONAL TELEVISON, but I am so glad I did. When we say yes to things that stretch us and make us feel a little nervous, I think God uses it to grow our perspective of who we can be and who He knows we are!
